How long have you been illustrating for?

I don't really remember a time when I wasn't drawing, but I knew around the time I was 12 that what I really wanted to do with my life was focus on making art. I really started focusing on art as a career around the time I was in college since I was studying animation.

Portraying a range of women and body types appears to be an important part of your work, would you agree with this?

Absolutely! I think representation is so important, yet so much of our media is focused on one singular idea of beauty. We're presented with this 'ideal' of beauty that is usually thin, white or light-skinned, flawless skin, basically unobtainable. But there are so many ways to be beautiful and I think it's important to show that! It's exciting to me to see a community developing where people are challenging those ideals and creating their own representation of beauty and I always strive to be a part of that.

What is it about drawing a range of women you enjoy?

Honestly for myself as a woman, I enjoy drawing other women. As a plus sized girl, it makes me feel good to be able to create something that gives other girls confidence in themselves. I've had so many people reach out to me and tell me, "Your art looks like me and that makes me happy," and that brings me a lot of joy.

Are there any other illustrators that you really admire?

My absolute favorites at the moment are Alphonse Mucha, Leonor Fini, Audrey Kawasaki, and Lindsay Campbell

Where would you like to see your work feature in the future?

I'd love to have my own independent shop up and running. Right now I have a variety of projects going through sites like Society6 and other 3rd parties but I'd love to be able to manage my own shop with my art. I have so many ideas buzzing around of things I'd like to make!
